In a heartbreaking road loss to the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night, the Boston Celtics let a 17-point lead slip away, eventually succumbing to a 132-126 defeat in overtime. The game showed both the highs and lows of the Celtics’ play of late, with struggles from hobbled star forward Jayson Tatum, who had a challenging shooting night from beyond the arc after spraining his ankle early in the tilt.
Tatum, a usually reliable scorer, had an off night from distance, going 2-of-10 from 3-point range. The frustration with Tatum’s shot selection was palpable, particularly in a pivotal 3-point attempt at the end of regulation. The Warriors, led by the dynamic duo of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, capitalized on the Celtics’ defensive lapses and late offensive struggles to produce a result all too familiar for Boston fans.
The hosts of the CLNS Media “How Bout Them Celtics!” podcast took a close look at the collapse, and what it means going forward.
