The Boston Celtics got an early-season rematch against the Miami Heat, the two ball clubs’ first meeting since the Celtics had dispatched the Heat in the 2022 Eastern Conference Finals.
While the game was a close one for most of the first three-quarters of the contest, the Celtics opened up a 14-point lead in the game’s final frame only to see the Heat battle back to within 5, but ultimately lost the game 111-104 with star forward Jaylen Brown on the bench with foul trouble. With the win, the Celtic improve to a 2-0 record ahead of a back-to-back road showdown with the Orlando Magic on Saturday evening.
