Celtic 'won't budge' over Rangers away ticket stance

Celtic will stand firm over their stance regarding not allocating Rangers fans any tickets for the upcoming derby this month, according to a report.

The Daily Record claims that Celtic chiefs remain prepared to tell the Ibrox hierarchy no when their request for tickets comes in.

The game is due to be played on Saturday, December 30 at Celtic Park.

Rangers could, in the end, take the matter to the SPFL, as they feel they're entitled to a small section of tickets given they offered Celtic the same for the first derby encounter of the season back in September.

The Hoops rejected these tickets due to concerns over fan safety.

While Rangers maintained they were satisfied those fears were allayed, the Parkhead board did not feel the promises were met and therefore knocked back their allocation of around 750 tickets.

And it seems, as this report states, that Celtic are not going to budge as far as letting Rangers fans into their stadium is concerned.

Both clubs have so far stuck to their guns over the matter. Celtic wants to return to the previous away allocations of 7,500 away tickets each at Celtic Park and Ibrox respectively.

However, the Rangers board is adamant there is no chance of these days returning. They favour a smaller portion of 800 supporters each.

Meanwhile, Celtic will host a delegation from their Austrian feeder side Admira Wacker next week as they continue to expand their links with the club.

The Scottish champions have established a partnership with the Modling side, who have been Austrian champions nine times but are currently sitting in mid-table in the second tier of the Austrian Bundesliga.

Celtic have already loaned Scotland Under 21s international defender Matthew Anderson and goalkeeper Tobi Oluwayemi to them this season.
