Celtic transfer update as Postecoglou makes 'big clubs' admission amid Juranovic and O'Riley rumours

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou says it can only be a good thing for his team that some of key men have been linked with big moves away.

The Hoops squad has won a number of suitors after an impressive first season under the Australian claimed a Premiership title and Champions League group stage football. Josip Juranovic has been heavily linked with a move elsewhere and Atletico Madrid has been mooted as one destination. This week saw Matt O'Riley placed high on Leicester City's transfer radar just six months after moving to Glasgow from MK Dons.

Postecoglou insists it's not the worst thing to have going around the club. He said: “I encourage it. If big clubs want our players that’s great. It’s means they are going well. I keep saying to the boys, they don’t need to worry about their futures if they are the best they can be today."

"That kind of stuff doesn’t come on my radar so I don’t worry about it."

His Celtic team continued preparing for the new Premiership season that starts on July 31st with a 2-2 draw with Polish side Legia Warsaw on Wednesday.

It doubled up as a goodbye match for cult goalkeeping hero Artur Boruc who is set to hang up his gloves, with Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda scoring before Legia coming back from 2-0 down to draw.
