Celtic youngster Ben Wylie has continued a recent theme of Hoops loans by moving to League One club Airdrie.
The Diamonds - managed by Rhys McCabe - signed Kerr McInroy, Brody Paterson, and Jonathan Afolabi on loan from the Parkhead club last season as they narrowly missed out on Championship promotion. They'll be keen to secure that berth in a competitive third tier this time around and Wylie arrives to bolster their midfield options.
20-year-old Wylie joined Celtic in 2018 and has been a regular in their Lowland League 'B' team alongside a loan back at hometown team, Ballymena United. He has also represented Northern Ireland t U15, U17, U19 and U21 levels. McCabe said of the latest deal between Airdrie and the Premiership champions: “Ben is a talented midfielder who loves to get forward and join the attack. We’re delighted to bring him in, and we look forward to him further strengthening our attacking options.”

Wylie said of his loan move: “The manager brought it across to me that they play nice football. Brody Paterson, Jon Afolabi, and Kerr McInroy were all here last season.
"They’ve all gone on to do good things off coming to Airdrie. I have a hunger to win, and I want to win every week!”
He is one of several youth and loan exits from Parkhead this summer, Osaze Urohghide joining Belgian side Oostende on loan with an option to buy less than 24 hours previous.
