Celtic told number one transfer target as Derek McInnes branded a hypocrite for having a go at Oh – Hotline

A black cloud is hanging over Tynecastle after Hearts’ hopes of back-to-back third-place finishes took another hit at Easter Road.

But the forecast for Hibs is looking increasingly brighter after Lee Johnson finally managed to get one over on his side’s capital rivals. Hibees fan Mick Bain, Edinburgh, said: “It was brilliant to hear the Hibs support singing Sunshine on Leith on Saturday. It must be the best football anthem ever.”

Neil Renton, Edinburgh, added: “That was a big result for Hibs against Hearts at the weekend. The Easter Road club need to use it as a springboard to beat other sides and not just the dross of the league like the Jam Tarts.” Even Jambo Neil Hunter, Penicuik, had to admire the emotional scenes after the hosts’ 1-0 win, saying: “Congratulations to Hibs on their derby win. I stayed back in the Hearts end when Sunshine on Leith was belted out. It must be the best football anthem ever. It gives me goosebumps.”

St Johnstone binned Callum Davidson at the weekend but Kilmarnock fan Jim McClean, Isle of Bute, reckons Derek McInnes should be on the way out of Rugby Park too, saying: “I am embarrassed to be a Killie fan at the moment. McInnes has got his tactics wrong on Sunday once again and actually admits it. Well, sorry Derek you have been clueless all season, it is time you handed in your resignation to Billy Bowie. Just go Derek, NOW!”

The Killie boss had another pop at VAR after Celtic striker Oh Hyeon-gyu was spared red-card punishment for his high-boot challenge on Liam Donnelly.

But John Caw hit-back to say: “McInnes should take a look at his own players. Alan Power is a man who gets away with it week in, week out. The man playing behind Oh got away with it from the moment Oh came on too. Constantly pushing him in the back. Oh kept looking at the ref for help but it wasn’t forthcoming.”

Celtic got the job done early doors in Ayrshire as Ange Postecoglou’s men fired four goals in a blistering opening 27 minutes. David Bryce, Troon, added: “Celtic were scintillating for 30 minutes at Rugby Park. The football we played was outstanding with Tomoki Iwata and Matt O’Riley on top form. But Callum McGregor’s insistence on passing the ball back bit us on half-time. Sead Haksabanovic needs to contribute a lot more than he does and Aaron Mooy looks miles off it at the minute!”

Paul Price, Belfast, added: “The word is big Ange wants another three signings this summer and that's all good but the best signing we can make is to get Ange himself on a three-year deal. At least then if one of the Premier League big guns comes calling we'd get a good fee for him."

Gordon Hendry was pleased to see Rangers bounce back and see off St Mirren after their Old Firm defeat. He said: “Having hammered Celtic earlier in the season, some Rangers fans might have thought St Mirren could spring another shock given the number of key players missing from the Rangers line up. However, in the end, the class shone through and Rangers made sure the same thing wouldn't happen to them with an outstanding second half performance to seal the victory.”
