Celtic star David Turnbull says boss expects a high standard from players

David Turnbull says Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou's hammering of his squad shows the standards they're expected to hit every single week in the Premiership.

The Scottish champions got their campaign off to a good start with a 2-0 win over Aberdeen, with goals from Stephen Welsh and Jota seeing off Jim Goodwin's Dons.

But Postecoglou said his side's finishing was wasteful and refused to praise his players.

Former Motherwell star Turnbull, from Wishaw, says that's a stark reminder of what is expected of them as they head to Ross County tomorrow afternoon.

He said: "It shows what the manager wants from the boys.

"We know we put in a good performance but it could have been better. There were small moments where we were slack in possession, gave the ball away.

“I think we knew that during the game and it is just about fixing that.

"It’s not that we played bad, we just could’ve done a few things better. But we know what we need to do and we try to improve on that everyday."
