Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou will be desperate to start Callum McGregor in Wednesday night's derby against Rangers.
The Parkhead skipper hasn't featured since a brutal cheekbone injury sustained against Alloa last month.
But he could don a protective mask for the massive clash under the lights.
With Nir Bitton suspended, Yosuke Ideguchi and David Turnbull injured and Tom Rogic unavailable after playing over an hour for Australia, the boss is light on midfield numbers.
But Daizen Maeda could be fit enough for the Celtic bench as he was a Japan substitute.
Kyogo Furuhashi and Albian Ajeti both remain out with hamstring injuries.
On his skipper, Postecoglou said: "Callum McGregor trained but I haven’t made a decision on whether he will be available.
“If he does play, whenever he does play, he will have to wear a protective mask.
“No doubt he would put himself on the line. But we have to balance that against his physical well-being, he has to feel comfortable.
“Knowing Cal he understands the responsibility that he has.
“He will only play if he feels he is at his best. If he doesn’t think he can be at his best then he will wait till that time is right."
