Celtic are reportedly ready to offer Alistair Johnston a new contract.
According to a report, club chiefs are keen to tie down the right-back on a long-term contract.
Johnston, 25, is under contract at Celtic until 2027 on the same terms as he signed when he arrived from MLS side CF Montreal in January 2023.
However, the Daily Record claim Brendan Rodgers wants Johnston signed on an extended contract with a new wage in line with top earners at Celtic.
It's thought contact has been made from Celtic officials to Johnston's representatives over opening contract discussions.

It comes as fears remain over Johnston's fitness ahead of Celtic's game against Hearts this weekend after a knock on international duty.
The defender was forced off against USA for Canada during the international break and was not involved in the next friendly against Mexico.
Manager Jesse Marsch revealed the hamstring knock but was hopeful the injury would not be major.
“He said he felt a little bit of tightness in his hamstring," Marsch explained as he provided an update on Johnston's condition.
"He just felt it was smarter to step out. He did that, if you go back to the Holland (June 6) game, he felt a little bit of tightness. He knows his body, and from that game he was able to recover and play against France. So, let’s hope it’ll be a similar type of situation.
“I’m hopeful that Alistair will be ok."
