Celtic pre season plans take shape as Austria camp and Parkhead friendlies announced ahead of Champions League tilt

Celtic will prepare for next season and their Champions League group stage return with a summer camp in Austria.

And that will be followed by Parkhead friendly games against English Championship sides Blackburn Rovers and Norwich City.

The Hoops travelled to Austria - which included a friendly against Switzerland in St Gallen - under Neil Lennon in 2019 and laid the foundations for their historic nine-in-a-row campaign which also saw them complete an unprecedented fourth successive domestic clean sweep.

Now Ange Postecoglou will take his players, almost certainly on the back of being crowned Scottish Premiership champions this season, back to Austria.

Celtic players will be put through their paces during a 10-day camp in the first week of July with a string of friendlies to be arranged.

And they then face Blackburn Rovers on July 16, kick off 12.30pm, although ex-Celtic boss Tony Mowbray won’t make a return to the east end of Glasgow as he prepares to leave Ewood Park.

Recently-relegated Norwich City travel north of the border seven days later for a 3pm kick off and both matches will be included in the 2022/23 Celtic season ticket.
