Celtic chiefs were in a meeting on Thursday night with a representative from Spurs. But it wasn’t to thrash out the future of boss Ange Postecoglou.
Parkhead chairman Peter Lawwell, chief exec Michael Nicholson and finance officer Chris McKay were part of the discussions with the European Club Association at Cameron House on Loch Lomond. The high powered pow wow also included Tottenham’s Strategic Development Director Hemen Tseayo, along with officials from several clubs from the UK and Northern Europe.
Outgoing Rangers chief executive Stewart Robertson was also at the summit, with Hearts’ Andrew McKinlay and Aberdeen’s Alan Burrows, plus reps from sides such as Manchester United, Ajax, Club Brugges and Bayer Leverkusen. Whether Postecoglou's name happened to come in conversation in the margins of the meeting, only club chiefs can say. But the Euro bigger picture was the main point of discussion on the back of another campaign coming to a conclusion.
