Celtic legend proves he's a class act during VIP visit to Ayrshire sports memorabilia store

Celtic legend Danny McGrain MBE proved a class act when he made a brief visit to a shop in Ayr to meet and greet his adoring fans.

The former Hoops skipper, now 71, was the VIP guest at the Ayr We Go Shop in Ayr’s Carrick Street on Saturday afternoon.

Ayr We Go specialise in sports prints, memorabilia and a variety of other sports-related products and owner Steven Mackie was thrilled to host the Celtic star.

Steven said: “Danny was great, he spent a few hours at the store chatting to fans, cracking jokes and signing autographs. It was a great day all round.”

McGrain played a staggering 659 competitive games for Celtic between 1970 and 1987, winning seven League Championships, five Scottish Cups and two Scottish League Cups.

Shop owner Steven has also told how the next VIP visit will be announced in due course — and it will especially appeal to Rangers fans.

The identity of the Rangers legend is being kept under wraps with an announcement being made at a later date.
