An Airdrie gym hopes to raise up to £25,000 for St Andrew's Hospice as they relaunch their business on Saturday.
Part of the bumper cash pot they hope to give the hospice, of which they are ambassadors, will come from the auction of a bottle of whisky that was signed by late Celtic legend Billy McNeil.
Gym of the Year Peak Fitness 4 U are holding a relaunch event at their South Bridge Street premises on Saturday between 11am and 5pm, featuring an appearance by 'Mrs Brown's Boys' star Gary Hollywood.
The aim of the day is to raise as much money as possible for St Andrew's Hospice, and gym customer services manager Donna Harrison has set her sights high.
She said: "We have this big relaunch on Saturday and we're really pushing the boat out. We're doing all sorts of things, competitions, and a massive raffle, because we're now official ambassadors of St Andrew's Hospice.
"The raffle we're doing on Saturday is fantastic. We've got a live auction going at the minute and the two items that are there is a framed Rangers top that's signed by the team that were in the Europa League final, and a bottle of malt whisky that's 47-years-old and has been signed by Billy McNeil.
"I had the bottle valued at £450 or thereabouts, but I'm hoping a Celtic fan who has some cash to splash will go for it, and all of that is going straight to the hospice.
"I'm trying to get as much money as I can. Including all the raffle tickets, which are a fiver each, I'm hoping for anything between £15,000 and £25,000 in total. I don't see why we can't do it.
"We're doing all sorts of fundraising. A lot of our members are paying an extra £1 a month, which goes straight to the hospice. We did 'It's a Knock-out', the Midnight Walk, and we're climbing Ben Nevis next month."
Donna says the gym has grown massively and was 'buzzing' with their award.
She said: "We won Gym of the Year at the Scottish Health and Fitness Awards. It was absolutely fantastic, we're absolutely over the moon.
"We've done so much to the place, outwith the obvious like the new spa, cafe, soft-play and what have you, we're doing loads for the hospice and various other things.
"We've got a new boxing club... we've got tons of stuff going on. We've worked our backsides off, and it's just amazing to win.
"I feel as though we're not your typical Airdrie establishment, now!"
