Celtic injury concerns continue as Daizen Maeda left out of Japan squad for final World Cup warm up

Celtic's injury concerns continue to grown, with Daizen Maeda left out of the Japan squad entirely as they faced Ecuador in a World Cup warm-up clash.

The frontman was brought off after the first 45 minutes during Japan's earlier game against the USA after picking up a knock in the opening half. And the forward was absent from training during Japan's final preparations for the closing friendly against the South American side earlier this week, with the injury woe highlighted some more as Hajime Moriyasu named his side that didn’t include Maeda.

It comes after fellow Hoops frontman Giorgos Giakoumakis suffered an injury scare, with the Greece international being sent for an MRI scan after issues with his thigh. Thankfully, no serious issued were detected and the Greek is likely to be ready to play when domestic action resumes this weekend. Sead Haksabanovic has also given Ange Postecoglou something to think about after the Montenegro star was forced off after 32 minutes following a heavy challenge during his country's clash with Finland on Monday.

There is good news for Kyogo and Hatate though, with the duo both named in the Japanese squad on Tuesday. Kyogo takes his spot in the starting XI. Hatate settles for the bench but it is a positive move after the midfielder missed out on the last match day squad entirely.
