Schalke talent Malick Thiaw is reportedly in talks to make a move to the Scottish Premiership with Celtic, just six months after Liverpool were said to have registered an interest.
The 20-year-old centre-back is a highly-rated talent at the German club who have just been promoted to the Bundesliga after relegation in 2021. It comes amid reports that they are set to snap up Celtic defender Christopher Jullien in their attempts to sustain themselves in Germany's top flight once again.
Thiaw made 32 appearances for Schalke last season and has made 58 overall. Football Italia reported back in the January window that Serie A giants AC Milan were one club after his services but there was a Merseyside suitor too, with Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool wanting him in the English Premier League. He eventually stayed put and helped the German side win promotion, which was bound to attract more admiration this summer.

Now Calciomercato report that it's Celtic who are 'in talks' to sign the youngster. His contract runs until 2024.
Parkhead boss Ange Postecoglou is gearing his side up for Champions League group stage football and title defence, signing goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist and defender Cameron Carter-Vickers so far.
Alexandro Bernabei and Jota are expected to sign while they have also been heavily linked with Thiaw's former Schalke team-mate Ko Itakura.
