Celtic hit with another UEFA fine as anti-monarchy banner sees total financial penalties above €50k

Celtic have been hit with a new anti-monarchy fine by UEFA for an incident in their Champions League Group F match with RB Leipzig.

The Hoops have already been hit with a €19,500 penalty for fireworks lit in their away match at the German Bundesliga club while they were also punished for a banner displayed in the early stages of a game in Poland with Shakhtar Donetsk. The travelling support on that occasion unveiled the banner with an anti-monarchy message just six days after the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, costing Celtic around €15,000.

They were fined letting off fireworks at Parkhead against Real Madrid, resulting in just over a €4,000 fine. Supporters then displayed a message which read 'Against Hunger and the Crown' during their home game against RB Leipzig and again Europe's governing body has reacted.
