Celtic hero Chris Sutton trolls Todd Cantwell in brutal Rangers parting shot

Celtic hero Chris Sutton has aimed a brutal parting shot at Todd Cantwell.

The Rangers midfielder, 26, is nearing a transfer exit to Blackburn Rovers on deadline day.

Cantwell had submitted a transfer request at Rangers with the player not involved under Philippe Clement ever since.

Now, he is widely expected to finalise a permanent transfer exit to the English Championship in the coming hours.

And pundit Sutton couldn't resist trolling Cantwell over his stay in Glasgow after the pair previously exchanged verbals.

The former Celtic striker joked Callum McGregor would be relieved by Cantwell's departure from Scottish football. And he then insisted Cantwell must prove himself on the pitch.

Sutton posted on X: "I bet Callum McGregor is breathing a big sigh of relief this evening… good luck to Todd he needs to start doing his talking on the pitch.

"He’s gone to a great club."

Cantwell had previously clashed with McGregor after a match between Celtic and Rangers before claiming he wanted to win more than the Parkhead captain.

Sutton and Cantwell have been in a war of words since the midfielder joined Rangers. Sutton regularly referred to Cantwell as 'TikTok Todd' for his social media use with the player retaliating and calling out Sutton's punditry skills.

Sutton first called out the Rangers midfielder over "making a meal of things" in a discussion over a free-kick awarded for a foul on the former Norwich player.

Cantwell had fired back with a remark on social media sharing a cut on his leg with the caption "probably a dive".

The saga continued when Cantwell named Sutton when responding to a social media post on the best pundit in Scottish football as the Rangers ace commented: "I can tell you it isn't Chris Sutton."

The remark prompted a fierce response from Sutton where he branded Cantwell "TikTok" and referenced losses to Celtic.
