Celtic favourites to sign Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney

Kieran Tierney has been linked with a sensational return to Celtic Park this summer.

It's become clear over the past few months that the Scotland international will not receive regular game time under Mikel Arteta at Arsenal this season.

It comes after the 25-year-old fell down the pecking order at left-back at The Emirates last term. Oleksandr Zinchenko was the clear first pick in that position, and so far this term in the Ukrianian's absence, both Jurrien Timber and Takehiro Tomiyasu have been preferred to KT.

Gunners boss Arteta recently insisted that Tierney was part of his plans going forward.

But on the evidence available so far in this campaign, his words seem to contradict his actions.

And that could be good news for Celtic, who have been listed as the favourites to sign the defender before the end of the transfer window.

He's been linked with a return to his boyhood club for much of the summer, but there has been no movement on that front as of yet. Brendan Rodgers, who worked with Tierney in Glasgow previously, refused to rule out a move.

Tierney move from the Hoops to Arsenal for £25million in the summer of 2019.

And according to bookmakers BetVictor, a return to Celtic could well be on the cards.

Celtic are currently priced as 4/1 favourites to sign Tierney before Monday, September 3.

West Ham are next on the list. David Moyes' side is available at 12/1 along with any Saudi club, German club, Italian club, French club or Spanish club.

Some of Arsenal's Premier League rivals are also listed.

Newcastle are on at 20s, Manchester City 25/1, and Manchester United and Liverpool both at 33/1.
