Celtic fans unveil banner in response to UEFA fine for anti-monarchy message

CELTIC fans have responded to the club's UEFA fine for displaying an anti-monarchy banner last month.

It was matchday four of the Champions League group stages this evening, as the Hoops looked to earn a much-needed three points against RB Leipzig.

Earlier today it was announced that the club had been fined £13,000 by European football's governing body for a banner - reading "F*** the Crown" - which was unveiled in Warsaw for Celtic's group game against Shakhtar Donetsk in September, the team's first match since the death of Queen Elizabeth.

The governing body decision branded the display as containing a "message not fit for a sports event (i.e. provocative banner)".

Tonight, a section of the Celtic fans appeared to respond with another banner.

Held aloft during the second half of the match, its message read: "Against hunger and the crown".

Prior to the match, supporters group The Green Brigade announced a collection for their latest food drive appeal, one of many ongoing initiatives the group is involved in to aid foodbanks in Scotland.
