Celtic fans have sent a pointed message to Rangers over their trophy count as they go another step closer to a Treble.
A Jota header sealed a narrow 1-0 win for Ange Postecoglou's side against Michael Beale's to put them into a Scottish Cup Final with Championship side Inverness Caledonian Thistle. The Hoops defence dug deep in wet Glasgow conditions and ensured they head into a match with Hearts at Tynecastle next weekend – where they can officially claim the Premiership title – on a high.
With the League Cup already banked, the title within touching distance and now Goliath in a final with David, Celtic fans came prep-prepared at Hampden to send a message to their foes. On top of another banner that said 'this is our city', their display with a message towards Rangers read: "10, 20, 30, 40, 50 trophies and more. 114 trophies and soon to be more."
Rangers are currently at 117 honours, the second highest in world football behind Egyptians Al Ahly. But Celtic can make it 115 trophies with victory in the Scottish Cup Final and then surpass Rangers’ mark with another Treble next season.
