Celtic fans are 'planning' an undercover title party at Ibrox – with Parkhead diehards claiming they have come up with a plan to sneak in among the Rangers' support on derby day.
No away supporters will be allowed inside Ibrox on Saturday with both clubs barring travelling punters for the derbies. Celtic reduced the 700 seat allocation at Parkhead down to zero during the 3-2 victory for Ange Postecoglou's side on their way to the Scottish Premiership title, and the lockout will continue on to Saturday's showdown in Govan.
However, with Celtic securing the league title with a win over Hearts last weekend, cheeky Celtic fans have attempted to land some tickets in the home stands and go undercover at Ibrox. On social media, images have been circulating that state seats are available in the sections allocation to the home fans – and supporters from the green half of Glasgow have started claiming they are snapping up the free seats to see the newly-crowned champions in action.
One Celtic fan tweeted to invite fans to join the Ibrox invasion: "Behind enemy lines to watch the guard of honour on Saturday!! Tickets galore available." That quickly sparked a pile-on from punters claiming they had snapped up tickets for the derby showdown.
One joked: "They'll be more of us than them at Ibrox at this rate." Another chimed in stated they would be joining just before kick-off for the Old Firm clash: "Already got a seat in hospitality bud. I’m booked to abseil in from the roof at 12. 15."
However, one Rangers fan quickly attempted to disprove the theory of how to get into the stadium - pointing out that only season ticket holders and MyGers members were able to get access to tickets. They said: "The website isn’t updating properly! There’s nothing left. Also, to get tickets they would need to be STHs or MyGers members, which I doubt very much. They’re jumping on the fact that it looks like it’s not sold out and it is."
Despite the counter point, Celtic fans stuck to their guns with one responding: "I didn’t need to buy any. I was given season tickets." Another chimed in: "(There) Might not be on general but plenty available. You just need to know where to look."
So will they make it in the door? It remains to be seen if Callum McGregor will get a warm response when he comes out of the tunnel at Ibrox but it would take plenty of hurdles for the fans to get in through the turnstiles.
