Celticfans clashed with Spanish police ahead of their Champions League match with Real Madrid. Trouble broke out on the streets of Madrid after thousands of fans travelled to watch the Parkhead squad in their final encounter during the group stages of the competition.
Video footage taken on Tuesday afternoon shows Spanish riot police armed with batons approaching Celtic fans having a pint outside a pub. The officers push Celtic fans with their batons and shields and attempt to herd them away from the tables.
The football supporters demand to know why they are being moved, but the armed officers become more forceful and physically move them out of their seats. The Celtic fans and police then separate in a short stand off before a football fan appears to throw a pint towards the officers - striking one on the helmet.
The armed police were then seen charging at the group of fans, hitting out with their batons and knocking tourists to the ground. The person filming the footage then runs inside the pub, and continues filming against a window.
The Policia Nacional can be seen chasing football supporters up the street in the final moments of the clip.
