Celtic fan Shay Given blanks Kris Boyd as pair clash over Aaron Ramsey on transfer deadline day

Celtic fan Shay Given was left unimpressed with Kris Boyd on Sky Sports News' transfer deadline day coverage.

Former Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Given and Boyd were both in studio along with Clinton Morrison on the final day of the window.

The Donegal man blanked Boyd following the former Rangers striker's goading over the signing of Aaron Ramsey.

As the evening rolled in, rumours of a Rangers swoop for Ramsey were growing stronger and Sky's presenter followed up on the story, stating that the Rangers official Twitter account had tweeted to suggest an announcement of the signing was imminent.

Boyd's reaction to the news - which included the fact that Rangers had tweeted the 'fist bump' emoji - was to turn towards Given and offer him a fist bump.

Given turned and saw Boyd's outstretched arm before he quickly shook his head at the former Gers striker.

After that refusal, Boyd slapped him on the shoulder and began to clap excitedly, much to the disgust of Given and indeed Morrison too.

As Given sat back with his head buried in his hand, Morrison complained about Boyd's carry-on.

He said: "This guy won't be quiet. I'm glad it [the transfer] is happening now, because then we've got another hour and a half where we don't have to talk about it."

And Given was on the same page, as he joked with the presenter about moving away from Boyd altogether.

He said: "Can we change seats?"

Rangers completed the signing of Ramsey on a loan deal until the end of the season on deadline day.

Just two points separate Celtic and Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premiership, with the sides clashing at Parkhead on Wednesday night.
