Celtic confirms death of fan who attended Champions League qualifier

  • A 65-year-old Celtic supporter has died in hospital after taking ill during Wednesday's Champions League qualifier against LASK at Celtic Park.
  • Emergency services attended the scene at 9.05 pm and conveyed the man to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where he died a short time later.
  • Police Scotland confirmed that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the fan's death.
  • Celtic Football Club expressed their deepest condolences to the supporter's family and thanked emergency services and fellow fans for their assistance.
  • On the pitch, Celtic secured a 3-0 first-leg victory over LASK thanks to a goal from Benjamin Nygren and a brace from Camilo Duran.
