Sunday's defeat at Nottingham Forest allowed for a six point gap to form between the duo in the fight for survival.
One name who has been linked with the role is Carlos Corberan at West Brom - but former England international Robinson believes his old club need a man-manager at the helm and he would turn to the Celtic boss. He knows it would be difficult to prize him out of Parkhead at this stage but would love nothing more than his old club to push the boat out and make it happen. He also flagged a connection already in place with Harry Kewell on his staff.
