Celtic have reached a 'verbal agreement' over the signing of Canada World Cup star Alistair Johnston, according to a report.
Ange Postecoglou hinted that he was looking to bring at least a couple of fresh faces in the door ahead of the January transfer window and after securing highly-regarded left-sided defender Yuki Kobayashi on a five-year deal from Vissel Kobe in his latest J-League raid, it looks like he's about to add another defender to his ranks.
Respected transfer guru Fabrizio Romano wrote on Twitter: "Celtic have reached verbal agreement with Montreal to sign Alistair Johnston on permanent deal, now waiting for final details. Johnston’s contract will be discussed in order to get the deal done and sealed."

The Canada international only joined Montreal last year in a £800,000 deal from Nashville but he looks set for a crack at Europe with the Scottish champions.
It's believed that his former club hold a sell-on clause in any deal that is agreed.
The versatile defender produced an impressive performance in the opener with Belgium in Qatar. Hoops fans will get the chance to watch him in action again with two more group games against Croatia on Sunday and Morocco early next week.
