ITV have decided not to bring back a popular spin-off show of one of their daytime quiz programmes despite strong ratings.
Celebrity Lingo will only last for one series after the broadcaster confirmed that the word-solving quiz gameshow will not be returning to ITV1.
The programme, which was a celebrity version of daytime favourite Lingo, was hosted by RuPaul and saw pairs of famous faces compete against each other to fill in the blanks and find the missing words in order to win cash.
The original version of the show airs on ITV1 every weekday at 3pm and is presented by Good Morning Britain presenter Adil Ray.
ITV has invested to bring back Big Brother to our screens, which will return later this year, and the broadcaster has swooped to bring another former Channel 4 show in another major shake-up.
Deal Or No Deal will be returning to our screens with Stephen Mulhern taking on the role of host.
The original series was presented by Noel Edmonds for 11 years when it launched in 2005. The series is making a comeback on ITV after seven years.
The new series will see "a brand-new setting with brand-new prize boxes and a new batch of contestants".
Casting is currently underway for Deal Or No Deal - a gameshow that sees contestants choosing one of 22 boxes, each containing a cash amount between 1p to £250,000.
Britain's Got More Talent presenter Stephen is excited about the revival and said he's been a "huge fan of the show".
"Wow what an opportunity, I’m beyond excited to be hosting the brand-new series," he said.
"I’ve always been such a huge fan of the show, so much so, I’ve been practising at home with small cereal boxes!
"It looks so simple but it’s an incredibly compelling game for both those playing and the viewers watching at home."
He continued: "It’s one of the greatest shows of all time and to be the new host is an honour. I can’t wait to get started."
Deal Or No Deal contestants have to try to win as much money as possible by gambling or having a good amount of cash in their chosen box.
During the game, the Banker offers significant cash sums for their box regardless of what is inside during regular intervals.
