Celebrity Traitors is back and just two episodes in, we’ve already been treated to some iconic TV moments as we see the 21 celebrities try and outwit one another in the Scottish Highlands.
We’ve also sadly seen the cast whittled down, with the first murder taking place in the second episode of the hit BBC show.
At the end of the first episode, new Traitors Maya Jama and Richard E Grant had to decide who they would recruit to join them in the turret.
Both Amol Rajan and James Acaster had to plead their case in person to the Traitors as to why they should join their team, with the loser being murdered.
Following a tense cliff-hanger, where viewers were left biting their nails as to who would be chosen, Acaster was selected whilst Rajan was murdered.
After being seduced, Acaster said: “I can’t believe I’m a Traitor, I’m gutted to not be Faithful anymore, I don’t like lying, but if I don’t join, then they kill me.”
Acaster said after discovering who was in the traitorous team: “I was quite relieved to see Maya, no one suspects her, but Richard is a loose cannon.
“Now tomorrow, I’ve got to decide how to play it in order to survive, and also to try and protect him.”
And at the round table, Grant came under intense scrutiny from his fellow celebrities, including Professor Hannah Fry and Joe Lycett, though received support from Joanne McNally and Myha'la.
Ultimately though, the episode was left on a cliffhanger as the voting began, and viewers will have to wait almost a week until we find out who will be leaving the castle.
The opening show was the most-watched debut episode of any series of the Traitors franchise in the UK, with an average audience of 8.9 million viewers, peaking at 9.1 million at one point.
Hosted by Claudia Winkleman at Ardross Castle in the Highlands, 21 celebrity contestants are playing for a cash prize of up to £100,000 for a charity of their choice.
Those assigned as faithfuls must try to work out who has been designated as the traitors, who in turn “kill off” their fellow players in the middle of the night.
