Viewers tuning in to BBC One's quiz show Pointless Celebrities on Saturday, August 13 were left bemused and in stitches following the answer Radio 1 DJ Arielle Free gave in the first round.
The general knowledge quiz show, which is hosted by Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman, who quit the regular show, Pointless, earlier this year, sees four teams of contestants — this time, it was celebrity broadcasters Arielle Free, Toby Anstis, Sonny Jay, Josie D'Arby, Neev Spencer, Colin Murray, Elis James and John Robins — try to come up with obscure answers that no-one else from the show's 100 anonymous panellists could think of. The team with the least number of points, wins. In this celebrity special, the broadcasters are playing to win a jackpot of money for charity.

In the first round, the contestants were given a table of 16 pictures of celebrities who, in the last few years, have been inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame. From that table, the broadcasters were to then pick out the celebrity least likely to have been an inductee.
The pictures included the likes of Kelly Clarkson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Naomi Watts, Missy Elliott, Luciano Pavarotti, Zac Efron, Cindy Crawford, Elvis Costello, Julia Roberts, Courtney Cox, Nick Canon, Laura Linney, Christian Slater and Sarah Brightman.
Arielle, 34, who was teamed up with Dancing on Ice star and radio host Sonny Jay and revealed on the show that she holds five Guinness World Records, went first and, mistaking Sarah Brightman for a fictional children's character played by actress Dani Harmer, said: "I'm going to say... I think in the corner, is that Tracy Beaker?"
Unfortunately, this answer was incorrect and was soon met by Richard Osman's quick wit, who said: "Quite why Tracy Beaker is not on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, I do not know. It is something [we] need to put right. That's a campaign. If anyone here has a radio show, can we campaign for Tracy Beaker?"
Viewers were quick to comment, with many finding this mistaken identification as "phenomenal television" with one watcher, @KatieMu1997, writing: "ARIELLE FREE I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOU!! @ariellefree #pointlesscelebrities"
Another said: "Tracy Beaker had better be trending now. #PointlessCelebrities".
One Pointless fan, @FlopsyPickle, wrote: "Wait, she thought Tracy Beaker was a) real and b) on the Hollywood walk of fame?! #pointlesscelebrities"
While another, @VicsterLS, commented: "Tracy Beaker ?? The fictional character ? How can someone not know at least one of them ? #pointlesscelebrities"
User @mdriver11 also took to Twitter to say: "Arielle Free thinking Tracy Beaker is on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is phenomenal television. #PointlessCelebrities"
With 121 points, Arielle and Sonny were the first team to be eliminated from the show.
Pointless Celebrities contines next Saturday on BBC One at 7:45pm.
