A celebrity has been arrested in relation to allegations of attempted rape and sexual assault of a woman in her 20s.
It has been reported that the 50-year-old star was interviewed by police at a station in north London this afternoon.
He has been accused of attempted rape, exposure, and sexual assault by touching, in relation to an incident which allegedly took place in London in 2007.
He was apprehended by officers today but has subsequently been released on bail. An investigation is ongoing.
The Mail first reported that the arrested man is a celebrity. He has not been named.
According to a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police, “A man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of attempted rape, exposure, and sexual assault by touching on Tuesday, 10 February.
“He was interviewed by detectives.
“This arrest relates to a sexual offence, which is alleged to have taken place in 2007 in London against a woman in her 20s.
“The man was bailed pending further enquiries and the Met's investigation continues.”
