Celebrity Gogglebox star Bez has revealed he suffered a horrifying injury several weeks ago which almost cost him his life.
The musician who found fame in the 1980s has never shied away from sharing stories about his life since becoming a member of the rock band, Happy Mondays.
Despite living a much more peaceful life compared to the days of his drugs and rock and roll, his life was turned upside down in February this year following a traumatic experience.
The musician, 59, found himself lucky to be alive following a motorcycle crash while holidaying in the Spanish resort of Magaluf.
"We were off-road in the mountains near Magaluf – it was literally on the way home. I lost the front end and had a really bad accident," he said told the Daily Star.
Bez, from Bolton, went on to add: "I broke bones, I broke my foot and did all my ligaments in.
"I'm just recovered, it still hurts a bit and it's not quite right, but it's getting more and more easier."
While such injuries may be enough to put anybody off, Bez admits that he'll "never give up" biking as he finds it too exciting.
The Maraca player explained that being on the open road on a motorbike helps clear his mind.\
Despite being a part of Happy Mondays and Black Grape, he and bandmate Shaun Ryder now entertain millions with their quirky humour and quick-witted comments on the celebrity edition of Gogglebox.
Although Bez doesn't see Gogglebox as a job, previously telling the Mirror: "It's not really work doing Gogglebox, it's more sitting down and having a good laugh with my mate.
"I'd love to watch the off-takes they couldn't use, that would be funny."
He also swapped his rock and roll for an appearance on Dancing On Ice, which entertained millions but it turned out that Bez had the last laugh.
But while he admits it was a nerve-wracking experience, he explained a huge positive came out of the show, a moment he had been waiting almost six decades for.
He previously told us: "It's the great thing about it, this year at Christmas, I take the family every year to the ice rink, I was the man of the rink," he said.
He went on to joke: "I was that annoying fella in the middle going fast, doing spins, someone told me I look really graceful, out of it came that moment that I've been waiting all my life."
