Gogglebox fans were left disappointed when the latest series ended last month - but now they have the celebrity version to look forward to. The new series of Celebrity Gogglebox returns to Channel 4 tonight (June 10). As well as returning famous favourites, there are some new faces that have joined the show.
They include Blue's Duncan James who is appearing alongisde Denise Van Outen. Denise used to feature on the show alongside her ex-partner Eddie Boxshall. The couple ended their seven year relationship in January this year.
Other new additions include Fearne Cotton, Gok Wan, Eurovision star Sam Ryder and BBC Radio 1's Scott Mills. But how much do they get paid for appearing on the show? Channel 4 has not confirmed how much the celebrities are earning, but reports suggest they could be making up to £2,000 per episode, BirminghamLive reports.
This means that some duos could be earning as much as £12,000 altogether over the six episodes in the series. The celebrities also reportedly have all their expenses paid for food to much on while they watch the chosen TV shows. It is also not known how much the non-celebrity Goggleboxers earn, but an insider previously told The Sun that each family get a monthly allowance of £1,500 between them and they can split that as they want.
It is also reported that the regular cast - including favourites like The Malones and Jenny and Lee - get a free takeaway every time they appear. They are said to be committed to at least 12 hours of filming a week, split across two six-hour shifts.
