The mum of Celebrity Big Brother star Lauren Harries has issued a public plea for help as she shared a 'scary' and heartbreaking update on her daughter's health following emergency brain surgery.
The 45-year-old has remained in the hospital following the surgery after she was rushed to the hospital last month in April, as her mum Katy has been keeping fans updated on her progress as she continues to recover from her mystery illness.
In a recent update, Katy revealed an update on Channel 5 star Lauren as she pleaded to her Twitter followers for help, writing: "Please help: Lauren has had a number of blackouts after which the right side of her face droops. This is incredibly scary for Lauren and us. She also has a consistent headache.
"Drs haven't been able to explain what is causing these. Have you or someone you know been through this? Any ideas or help you could give will be so helpful.
"The NHS saved Lauren but they can't find any answers for this and it is so scary when it happens. It happened again yesterday. Please help find out what's causing these!"
The latest update comes several weeks after Katy had revealed Lauren had undergone surgery and was admitted to hospital, reports Birmingham Live.
She had shared a tweet earlier in the month with a photo of Lauren and a caption reading: "Lauren has woken up after her brain surgery. They had to shave her hair. As you know this is Lauren's worst nightmare but she would have died if not. The amazing staff in the Heath Hospital have been wonderful.
"Thank you for your kind words, her recovery ahead. Update to follow." A further update soon followed offering more information about Lauren’s condition.
The post stated: "Yesterday they moved Lauren back to recovery, she is under close watch. She still has memory issues and confusion. The doctors say that she does not need another operation atm they are taking it day by day."
Fans first became aware of Lauren's health battle when a tweet was issued from Lauren's mum from her Twitter page in April, which read: "Please pray or send good thoughts to my precious daughter Lauren @LaurenHarries. Who is recovering from emergency brain surgery today."
Just three days before, Lauren had tweeted on her own profile to give a candid insight into her transition journey.
She tweeted at the time: "22 years ago I had no outside influences telling me to become a woman, I just knew I was.
"I searched for help. My doctor couldn't help me, trans people were an enigma.
"So to worried parents I suggest that one cannot be sold into having these life changing expensive operations."
Lauren found fame as an antiques expert at the age of 12 as she appeared on the Antiques Roadshow and Wogan. She underwent gender reassignment surgery in 2003.
Lauren is best known for her stint on Celebrity Big Brother in 2013, where she finished in third place and has also appeared on Celebrity Juice and Naked Attraction, where she became the first ever celebrity to appear on the Channel 4 dating show.
