A man in his 40s was arrested in the operation and is due to appear in Blanchardstown District Court this morning.
Sources have confirmed that the man who was arrested is an associate of the Irish celebrity, who has no involvement in crime. Gardai confirmed the arrest of an unnamed man yesterday. A spokesman said: “Following a search of a residence during the evening, gardai in Finglas attached to the Divisional Drugs Unit with assistance from a number of uniform units, discovered separate bundles of cash throughout the location.
“In addition to the cash seizure, a small quantity of cannabis herb was also seized. A man, aged in his 40s, has since been charged in connection with this seizure.
“He is due to appear before Blanchardstown District Court (No.1) on Monday morning, 19th December 2022.”
Meanwhile, Gardai continue to investigate suspected links to the Finglas drugs gang which is controlled by the notorious gangster dubbed Mr Flashy.
Flashy’s mob is heavily involved in the drugs business in Finglas – but is also at war with another gang in the North Dublin suburb.
That feud led to the murder of rival James Whelan in Finglas in April of this year.
Whelan’s pals are out for revenge and tried to kill Flashy and his pal in Finglas last week.
Gardai believe the Whelan faction will not stop until Flashy and his key lieutenant are dead.
