Celebrities you didn't know were in Harry Potter, from Little Mix to Tracy Beaker

Harry Potter has birthed the careers of some stellar actors and actresses, from Emma Watson to Robert Pattinson - but some stars have such small roles that you may not even realise that they are in the films.

Established actors and actresses such as Alan Rickman, Helena Bonham-Carter and Robbie Coltrane featured in the film adaptation of the fantasy fiction novels, written by JK Rowling. Stars of the show Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson were stand-out faces from the movies, but there are some celebs you may not even recognise now that have appeared in Hogwarts.

Whether it be a minor role, or even an extra in the films, who will you recognise from this list of celebrities you didn't know were in Harry Potter? Find out more below.

Regé-Jean Page

Bridgerton fan-favourite Regé-Jean Page, who plays the Duke in the popular Netflix series, also played a small role in one of the final Harry Potter films. Regé-Jean can be seen in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part One, next to Emma's Hermione in a tense scene.

He can be spotted looking stern as Shacklebolt's Patronus arrives to warn the students that the Ministry of Magic has fallen, and the Death Eaters were taking over. Despite this very obvious appearance, Regé-Jean is not credited in the film.

He has also appeared on television prior to his hunky role on Bridgerton, with an appearance on popular show Waterloo Road.

Freddie Stroma

Continuing on with the Bridgerton theme, Freddie Stroma played Cormac McLaggen in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, a Quidditch fanatic who loves himself and was also obsessed with Hermione Granger. Despite only appearing in the one film, the actor played a large part in bringing Hermione and Ron closer together, as he vied for her attention.

The esteemed actor has landed himself a role in Netflix's Bridgerton as Prince Friedrich, but has also appeared on other shows. His film appearances include Pitch Perfect, A Cinderella Story: Once Upon a Song and The Inbetweeners 2.

Dani Harmer

Dani Harmer, who is best known for her role as the infamous Tracy Beaker in various shows on CBBC, also appeared on Harry Potter. She appeared in the first film back in 2001, just one year before her explosion onto the scene as Tracy on CBBC.

In the first movie, she can be spotted sitting alongside Fred and George Weasley at the Gryffindor table, clapping as the first years were given their houses by the Sorting Hat. This was the only time she appeared in the series, but we think she is doing just fine.

Jesy Nelson

Yes, that's right - former Little Mix star Jesy Nelson has appeared in Harry Potter. The singer appeared in the crowd in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire as the students gathered to celebrate the Yule Ball.

So, despite Jesy being best known for her stint on The X Factor and her membership in Little Mix, she was tasting fame before the show.

Ben Shephard
Ben was also in Harry Potter! (ITV)

Tipping Point host and Good Morning Britain star Ben Shephard has also had a brief cameo in the Harry Potter film franchise - appearing in the Half-Blood Prince.

He made an appearance in Diagon Alley as a father to one of the Hogwarts students. This scene was discussed on an episode of Good Morning Britain as well.

Ben said to fellow host Kate Garraway: "Because, of course, some of us have been in Harry Potter as well."

Kate then jokingly responded in an exasperated way: "Oh my giddy Aunt." Ben laughed and added: "I looked like a young Gary Oldman I actually did."

So, did you guess any of these names to crop up in a list of Harry Potter cameo appearances? Let us know if you think of any more in the comments below.
