There's nothing like the surprise you get when you catch a celebrity as you do your shopping or take your bins in.
Despite being famous and partial to a red carpet, celebrities are still like us and have to make a trip to Tesco for their food shop, or enjoy the local sights and sounds when they have time off.
In Leeds we boast some of the country's best famous faces who have settled here. For starters, one of the best TV shows (Emmerdale, of course) is filmed in Leeds so some of its starlets have settled nearby. We've also raised some of music and TVs best like Mel B.

Let's see who is kicking back and loving life in Leeds . Because, after all, who can blame them?
Tom Zanetti
DJ Tom Zanetti was born on a council estate in Leeds and hasn't moved far. He is best known for his songs "Darlin" and "You want me" and is a regular on the reality TV circuit, taking part in Celebs Go Dating.
Tom also owns popular Leeds bar Dollhouse alongside his business partner and fellow DJ Kane Towner. The bar is a regular haunt of influencers and Love Island alumni and its bold and bright decor invite people in as they celebrate the city's nightlife.
He's also recently opened restaurant Playroom in Leeds and Playbar.
Mel B
Spice Girl Mel B returned to her hometown of Leeds last year after a 15-year stint away.
Scary Spice, as she's sometimes better known, grew up in Harehills but spent a decade and a half living in Los Angeles with her family. However, last year the Sun suggested that her UK tour prompted her to return to Yorkshire to be closer to her mum and family.
A source told the Sun: "She's on brilliant terms with her mum again, and just feels the time is right to relocate the family and spend more time with Andrea. Mel loved her time in LA but she also wants her two youngest kids to have a British accent."
Earlier this week, Mel celebrated being made an MBE at an investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
Nicola Adams
Olympian Nicola was born and bred in Leeds, and still lives in the city.
She competed in boxing from 2017 to 2019 and as an amateur became the first female boxer to become an Olympic champion after winning gold at London 2021.
Nicola is currently awaiting the arrival of a baby son with girlfriend Ella Baig. The couple were a hit when they starred on Celebrity Gogglebox and fans have been quick to wish them congratulations.
Emmerdale cast
There's too many to mention as the Emmerdale stars film in Leeds and are dotted around Yorkshire to make it easier to get to work.
Cast members such as Charley Webb and Michelle Hardwick regularly share updates on their home and family lives. Charley and partner Matthew Wolfenden can often be seen walking through the Yorkshire countryside on days out.
A trip to one of Leeds' coolest bars is not made until you spot an Emmerdale star.
Ellie and Izzi
The Gogglebox favourites are well-known for their Yorkshire accents that ring out on the TV screen before narrator Craig Cash can say "In Leeds."
The pair - who come complete with their canine friends - and tales of life in Yorkshire are taking a break from the show right now after Ellie's boyfriend Nat was hit by a car in Halton earlier this year.
A source close to Ellie told The Sun she has been told to "take as much time off as she needs" and its unlikely she'll return to this series.
