Cedi Osman’s nose started leaking yellow fluid and NBA fans were so confused

Cleveland Cavaliers forward Cedi Osman had plenty of people freaked out on Sunday night when he took a shot to the face in the fourth quarter against the Pistons. It was the kind of hit to the face that could have easily caused a nosebleed. And for a moment, that’s what appeared to be happening.

There was just one issue:

Whatever dripped from his nose was yellow.

That understandably caused confusion across NBA Twitter — and even on the floor as a player said, “It’s yellow. What the (expletive).” — because, well, blood is not yellow. It’s never yellow. Yet, it sure looked like Osman was bleeding yellow.

Fans immediately started looking for an explanation. Did Osman actually throw up a sports drink? Did he have a wicked sinus infection? Did he suffer a serious injury and start leaking spinal fluid? He did not. Or, was he actually an alien who bleeds yellow?

Actual medical professionals went with the simple explanation of it being mucus. Weirdly runny mucus, but still mucus.

Thankfully, Osman would be OK to continue playing in the game despite confusing NBA Twitter.

This was how Twitter reacted
