Cedar Key Fire Rescue has made the decision to suspend services as Hurricane Helene, a Category 4 storm, approaches the coast of Florida. The announcement was made in a statement posted on Thursday, citing the need to prioritize safety in the face of the impending severe weather.

The statement from Cedar Key Fire Rescue indicated that services would remain suspended until the hurricane has passed. Hurricane Helene is currently classified as a Category 4 hurricane with sustained winds of 130 mph. The storm's projected track shows it coming within 70 miles of Cedar Key, posing a significant threat to the area.
