The CDC has committed approximately $1.5 million in first-year funding to modernize the online training platform that state, local, tribal, and territorial health departments use to deliver and track courses for their staff, a piece of infrastructure most people have never heard of and that nearly every American public health worker touches.
The award goes to the Public Health Foundation, the nonprofit that owns and operates the TRAIN Learning Network. CDC TRAIN is the agency's branded portal within that network. The notice announcing the award covers a five-year period beginning September 1, with funding for years two through five set at continuation.
