CCTV released in search for missing County Durham man Barry Hopkins

Police have released CCTV in a bid to help find missing County Durham man Barry Hopkins.

Barry, 65, was last seen walking along Shotton Road in Peterlee, at around 10am on Tuesday, March 22. Durham Constabulary believe that it is possible Mr Hopkins could have caught a lift. However, this is not shown in the CCTV footage.

Officers have are now wanting to hear from anyone who lives or was passing the Caterpillar site, in Shotton Road, Peterlee, at around 10am on Tuesday, March 22.

They are also appealing for anybody with CCTV or dashcam footage which may help to locate Barry to come forward.

In the footage, Mr Hopkins can be seen walking towards the junction with the A19 roundabout and Burnhope Way.

A spokeswoman for the force has now released a description of Mr Hopkins as well his appearance at the time he is believed to have been last seen. She said: "He is described as white, of medium build and was last seen wearing a blue bomber style jacket, black trousers, a blue baseball cap and a face mask."

If you have any CCTV or dashcam footage that could help officers find missing man, Durham Constabulary are urging you to come forward. If you can provide any information to help Durham Constabulary in their efforts to trace Mr Hopkins, call 101.
