Chopwell woman Peninnah Britten found after search

A missing woman from Chopwell has been found following a police search.

Peninnah Britten, 40, was last seen around 12.40pm on Friday, leaving her home on Forth Street. An investigation was launched to locate Peninnah after officers from Northumbria Police said they were growing increasingly concerned for her welfare.

Officers from Northumbria Police who were trying to locate Peninnah released two images of the missing woman including a CCTV image. They show her wearing a dark green hooded coat with a white fur collar and black leggings and carrying a black holdall.

While she lives in Chopwell, officers believe Peninnah may be travelling around the Burnopfield or Rowlands Gill area.
