CCTV image issued in search for missing Barry McCullagh as concern grows for his welfare

Police have issued a fresh appeal to the public to help them trace a missing man as concern grows for his welfare.

Renfrewshire Live told yesterday how officers had been seeking assistance in their attempts to find Barry McCullagh.

The 40-year-old, who lives in Castlemilk, Glasgow, was last seen on Corsebar Road near Paisley's Royal Alexandra Hospital around 5.20pm on Wednesday, October 5.

Police say it is unlike Barry to go so long without contacting friends or family.

He is described as white, 5ft 9in tall, of medium build and has short black hair.

Police say that, when last seen, he was wearing black and navy jogging bottoms, a black soft shell jacket and grey and white trainers.

With Barry still missing four days on, Paisley police took to social media to reissue an appeal – featuring a CCTV image of Barry at the time he went missing.

Sergeant Will Thomson from Paisley police station said: “Despite a previous appeal and a number of enquiries, we have not yet been able to trace Barry.

"We have issued a CCTV image of him from Wednesday afternoon and I hope that people who remember seeing him will get in touch with police.

“It is totally out of character for him not to keep in contact with his family and friends and, as time passes, we are becoming very concerned for his safety and wellbeing.

"Searches are continuing and officers are being assisted by specialist search advisors to trace him as soon as possible.

“I would urge anyone who has seen him since Wednesday afternoon, or anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact officers through 101 with reference number 3910 of 5 October.”
