CCTV footage released of alleged firebombing of Canberra law firm

Police have released CCTV footage of an alleged firebomb attack on a law firm in Canberra's CBD last November in an effort to identify the suspect.

The footage shows the man breaking the window of a building at the corner of Marcus Clarke Street and Farrell Place about 5am on November 13.

The man then pours an accelerant inside and sets the business alight.

ACT Emergency Services said two fire engines went to the scene.

Police say no one was inside the business at the time, and no one was injured.

A DNA profile was obtained after ACT Policing's major crime squad recovered an item at the scene and conducted forensic testing.

More than six months later, police have released the CCTV footage of the incident and are encouraging anyone who recognises the man in the video or has information about the incident to come forward.

Anyone who can assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Please quote 8215963. Information can be provided anonymously.
