Police have launched an investigation after a man was assaulted at a Metro station in Newcastle.
Officers released the image of a man they wanted to trace that they have since identified.
Northumbria Police received reports of an assault at about 5pm on April 30, at the Metro station at Newcastle’s Central Station. It was reported that an intoxicated male was being looked after by the victim when, for reasons to be established, the man proceeded to punch him in the chest.
Officers said an investigation is ongoing and police released an image of a man who was in the station at the time of the offence.
