Man hospitalised following 'unprovoked' Kingswood attack

A 28-year-old man was hospitalised following an unprovoked attack in Kingswood earlier this year after he declined to give offenders a ride in his vehicle in the late hours of the night.

The incident, which took place just after midnight on Friday 4 February, saw the victim and his girlfriend returning to their car on Bank Road when two men approached them and asked for a lift.

They then proceeded to punch the man repeatedly before knocking him to the ground after he declined. He was later admitted to the hospital where he was treated for a significant head injury and concussion. He has since been discharged.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary are now asking public members to help identify the two men in the above pictures as police believe he may be able to help with ongoing investigations.

The men in the CCTV images are described as white, around 5ft 8-9ins tall and are thought to be between 18-22 years old. Both men have short, light brown hair and one has shaved the back and sides.

One man is of large build - wearing a light grey hoodie and knee-length green cargo shorts and the second man is wearing a full grey tracksuit with a black gilet on top and black shoes.

PC Gemma Childs said: “This is a violent and unprovoked attack which left someone with substantial injuries. We believe the people in the CCTV images will be able to aid the investigation and encourage members of the public who recognise them to come forward.”

Anyone who recognises the men or witnessed the incident is asked to call 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5222028361 , or complete this online appeals form.
