CBS play-by-play announcer Jim Nantz shared an emotional story about why he thinks Bills fans are the “best” while meeting with some of the team recently at the PGA Championship at Oak Hill in upstate New York.
Nantz’s mother died during the 2022 NFL season, and he called Buffalo’s Week 5 game against the Steelers the following Sunday. Nantz expressed his gratitude for the compassion the team and Bills Mafia showed him after his loss.
“This guy (quarterback Josh Allen) reached out to me first off on his own,” Nantz said while standing next to Allen. “I showed up in the booth, the whole management team was standing there, jacket and tie, to extend their sympathies. I’ll never forget that.”

Nantz went on to reveal that more than 100 fans made donations to the Nantz National Alzheimer Center in the broadcaster’s hometown of Houston.
Well done, Bills Mafia. Don’t ever change.
