CBS has officially renewed the hit series 'Tracker' for a second season. The show, based on Jeffery Deaver's novel 'The Never Game,' follows the adventures of Colter Shaw, portrayed by Justin Hartley, a skilled tracker who assists in solving mysteries for both private citizens and law enforcement while navigating his own complex family dynamics.
The series made a strong debut following the Super Bowl, which was noted as the most-watched telecast in history by Nielsen. The premiere episode attracted 18.4 million viewers and has since grown to an impressive 30 million viewers across various platforms. Subsequent episodes have also performed well, with viewership numbers ranging from 6.9 to 7.4 million.
'Tracker' was developed for television by Ben H. Winters and features a talented team of executive producers including Hartley, Ken Olin, and Elwood Reid. Jeffery Deaver, the author of the original novel, serves as a producer on the show. The series is produced by 20th Television.
Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, expressed her enthusiasm for the show's success, stating, 'Tracker' kicked off our premiere week with a ratings bang and has kept the momentum going. We knew we had something special when we saw the very first cut of the series, and the overwhelming audience response confirms it. We couldn't be more grateful to the talented cast, the exceptional writing and producing teams, and our partners at 20th Television for delivering such compelling episodes. And, of course, we're also so thankful to the millions of viewers tuning in each week.'
