Hurricane Polo remains an extremely powerful Category 5 storm off Mexico, and its waves may reach Southern California within days. As of midnight CST Wednesday, Polo had maximum sustained winds near 165 mph, a minimum central pressure of 905 millibars, and was stationary about 200 miles south of Zihuatanejo, according to the National Hurricane Center.
