Category 3 Hurricane Milton Approaching Florida With Life-Threatening Conditions

Milton’s peak wind speeds decreased this afternoon, and the hurricane now has sustained winds of 125 mph, making it a Category 3 hurricane.

The change in category does not indicate a decrease in the potential impacts of the hurricane. Florida is currently experiencing heavy rain, strong winds, and a significant tornado outbreak. The situation is expected to worsen, with life-threatening storm surge on the horizon.
