Cat owner wins £100k pay-out after pet tabby was accused of trespassing and scaring other animals

In a landmark settlement, a cat owner has been awarded a settlement of £100k after wrongly being fined for trespassing and other bad behaviour. Anna Danieli's pet Miska had racked up more than 30 fines and violations, totalling £25k.

The tabby was accused of frightening and killing other animals, and roaming freely in the area in Washington state, US. In 2019, Miska was taken away from her by animal control officials who had made complaints about the cat, reports the Mirror.

According to Ms Danieli's lawyers, the animal officers who made the complaints were in fact living in the same neighbourhood as Anna. However, she eventually reached a settlement with King County and the City of Bellevue after receiving more than 30 violations and fines worth £25k
